Georgia joined PIVI in 2017. Georgia will use its first PIVI donation to increase influenza vaccination coverage among diabetics within the country, working in partnership with the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC). The country is also planning to purchase additional vaccine to target persons who test positive for HIV infection. Georgia is actively conducting disease surveillance among pregnant women to gather evidence with which they can expand their vaccine policy. Georgia has a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop vaccine policy development since fall 2016.
