PIVI’s Work with Georgia
Georgia began discussions with PIVI about partnership in 2017. Georgia currently has a small vaccine program for healthcare workers and persons with certain chronic diseases. Georgia has a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop vaccine policy, facilitating activities to improve uptake of vaccine among target groups, conduct acceptability work to understand barriers to uptake and better craft communications messages. In 2019 they plan to produce an economic burden of influenza illness estimate and to host an evidence-based review workshop to develop an evidence-based influenza vaccine policy recommendation.
