A recent article from Global Health NOW highlights the growing adoption of the 7-1-7 framework, an approach developed by Resolve to Save Lives to help countries measure and improve outbreak detection and response. The framework sets a target of detecting an outbreak within seven days, notifying public health authorities within one day, and initiating response actions within seven days.
The approach aligns closely with PIVI’s efforts to strengthen surveillance and preparedness systems. Through SONAR, the Global Fund has asked PIVI to incorporate the 7-1-7 framework into surveillance activities, helping countries identify gaps, improve response timelines, and strengthen readiness for future public health threats.
